Title: mobile medical container

Comcept: I suggest a mobile container, which can be transported by ship, trailer, or helicopter, that will turn into a medical facility in time of disaster. Despite its size, it could roll out to provide much bigger space and administer emergency medical treatment even when hospital themselves are destroyed. It will protect victims from secondary disaster such as contagious diseases and cold. Container here refers to cargo containers which meet the World ISO standard. By using containers of the same size, they could be transported smoothly without any time loss by any method through land or sea. In addition, examination and treatment containers, surgery containers, power generator containers, water purification containers will be provided according to need.

Coment: "Communication and Collaboration" is essential in solving problems when providing aid to areas hit by major-scale natural disasters, and the Mobile Medical Container holds strong potential in this area. In South Africa, for instance, not only natural disasters but also the spread of AIDS and malaria is a serious problem. The Mobile Medical Container suggests a countermeasure for those areas as well, and thus deserves recognition as a global solution. However, the design has many problems to be solved before actualization, such as the logistics and cost of shipment. The material of the container should be further investigated to find materials appropriate for the environment to which it will be shipped. Additional collaboration with experts should add more reality to the design.
