Design Triplex 10: Symposium
From concept to completion of the JP Tower Academic Cultural Comprehensive Museum, “Intermediatech”, where knowledge meets art

In conjunction with The Japan Space Design Award 2013 Exhibition, a panel-format show where all award-winning works of the three major Japanese space design associations, Japan Design Space Association (DSA); Japan Sign Design Association (SDA) and Japan Commercial Environmental Design Association (JCD) can be seen in one place, this related symposium is held on February 5, 2014. Topics of discussion include what kind of construction is ideal for renovating the old Tokyo Chuo Post Office to build a facility to contribute to academic culture using this site, creating the JP Tower Academic Cultural Comprehensive Museum, “INTERMEDIATHEQUE”, which won JCD Design Award 2013’s grand prize and the DSA Space Design First Place Award. Presented are the concept and process, from taking advantage of the environment and the circumstances to final implementation of the proposal.
