This workshop is run by Naho Izumi of one of the NUAnce* brands, samio. She teaches participants how to tie-dye cute polka-dotted handkerchiefs and kitchen cloths. They sew the cloth into circles, tie it with thread and dye it the colors of their choice. Participants enjoy working under the tutelage of a young dyer to learn this traditional technique.
*NUAnce is an organization whose members are mainly creators who graduated from Nagoya University of Arts. Member Naho Izumi’s dyeing brand is called “samio”.
