Design: The Next Generation 2000-In commemoration of the four hundredth anniversary of friendly relations maintained by
The Dutch New Innovators

On the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the first relationship between Japan and Holland, this combination of exhibition, lecture, workshop, and seminar will introduce the work of 60 promising young designers from the Netherlands. The event’s exhibitors fall into three categories: Droog Design; young designers BNO, YD+I (referring to an innovative project bringing together young designers and large, conventional corporations); and Phillips Future Plan. The cross-cultural portion of the program includes a presentation by Mr.Gjis Bakker, co-founder of Droog Design collection; design presentations by 24 Dutch and Japanese groups; and three simultaneous cross-cultural seminars and workshops.
