Martha Bateman founder and chief executive officer of Martha Bateman Concepts [MBC] has extensive experience in corporate communication design and marketing strategy. She has been operational in the Graphic Design and Communication Industry for the past thirty five years. She graduated as a graphic designer and started her career in 1969 she joined Group Editors, at that time, the most renowned design and PR company in Johannesburg. She held the position of art director, head of the creative division and was a member of the Board. Obtained design experience Internationally in South America and London. In 1978 she founded Graphicor (Pty) Ltd a well known Graphic design company, currently still in operation. After realizing her goal Martha retired from Graphicor in 1991.The company won many awards for outstanding design and grew to one of the largest design companies in South Africa. Client driven Martha founded M&D Graphic Design (Pty) Ltd a design agency, in 1993, M&D made it's mark in producing award winning design and marketing solutions for many blue-chip companies. In March 2003 this company was re-branded to launch MBC. The objective was to move with the times to provide a complete design solution company, to meet the demands of a highly pressurised industry, by affording clients a full marketing package from concept to creative execution covering the complete spectrum of offerings. [Judge and Board Member] Fellow of Design South Africa and former President of SDSA, sits on the Advisory board of Design Center and has been a judge for many design competitions. Patron of the annual Design Achiever Awards her involvement goes back twenty years. Martha has attended many international conferences across the Globe.
