Honorable Mention

TitleF Fragile chain

Concept: The act of eating shows gratitude towards life.
People who don't appreciate when they eat probably believe that humans are the pinnacle of life on this planet. This way of thinking is evident in the food chain diagram.
"Humans are absolute predators without any natural enemies, standing at the top of the natural world."
This statement is mostly true, but I believe such a way of thinking iGender:tremely dangerous.
When we see animals, we call them "creatures." When we see them displayed at grocery stores, we call them "food." When we are unable to eat all the food on the plate, they become "trash."
This behavior of ours seems to stem from our way of thinking.
We must become more aware of the fact that "we are able to live by eating the lives of others."
Instead of extending this "chain of greed," which is one-sided and dominant, we should follow the "chain of appreciation" extended to us by the natural world. And we must recognize the frailty of the "chain of appreciation".

Judge's Comments: The visuals showing the food chain--both poster and video--are beautifully expressed, communicating the image that all living things are linked and have an affect each other. The utilization of a variety of development patterns in the animation and impressive copy shown at the end is effective.
