Honorable Mention

Title: Calorie Trade

Concept:

Calories you burn off will flow throughout the world.
850 million people around the globe don't have enough food to eat. At the same, running has become a popular activity in advanced countries.
Japan alone holds 2.97 million runners. Some calories are needed for survival, while other calories need to be burnt off.
We hope to bring together these two conflicting views of calories in order to create happiness.
Calorie Trade is an activity in which calories burnt off through sports are converted in food aid used to provide support in deprived areas.
The joy of running for Calorie Trade translates into the joy of eating for those in other regions. Take action for our precious future.
Early Outlook: Introduce Calorie Trade to avid participants of sporting events.
Medium-Term Outlook: People who exercise several times a week can use the website to turn the “one time event" into a “daily activity."
Advertising Medium: In order to introduce Calorie Trade to various people, we prepared mediums with a similar look.

Judge's Comments: This work proposes a novel program for social contribution. This activity, which involves converting the calories consumed in marathons and other sporting events into their equivalent in foodstuffs to be provided to impoverished areas, creates a system that enables participants to use their own enjoyment in aiding society, thus making it very likely that the program can be sustained without undue effort. Maintaining the trading system will require that it more persuasively stress the benefits, especially those for cosponsoring businesses.
