The “Theme Center” of the New York World’s Fair was composed of three elements: the Trylon, a triangular obelisk; the Perisphere, housing a diorama called Democracity, designed by American industrial designer, Henry Dreyfuss; and the Helicline, a spiral ramp leading from the exhibit to ground level. These three symbolic elements became common motifs for many posters.
